Witcher – Concept Sketch
A concept sketch — one of many I created while working on the collectible figure for The Witcher III: Wild Hunt. This was one of the early proposals for the collector’s edition figure, which eventually lost to another version of mine — the Witcher fighting the griffin, included in the limited cardboard collector’s edition of the game.
In this version the idea was to show the protagonist at the moment of taking potions that gave him special powers but also caused strong physical convulsions. That’s where the unusual pose comes from — the kneeling figure, the strangely bent neck, and the tense gesture somewhere between convulsions and spasms, together with the strongly emphasized swollen veins.
This version remained an early concept that today sits somewhere on a shelf in my studio, gathering dust. There is no epic action here and no dynamic movement — instead it focuses on internal expression and the tension between the human and the beast within the character.
